This from my hike yesterday on the mountain. Otherwise tweaking my Anne Truitt piece (scheduled for the January Art in America), working on the Person of the Year cover (not my artwork, someone else's), making travel plans for Christmas in California, and going back to the city today for Orozco at MoMA and Sting at St. John the Divine. Will be back on track soon....
wow - we got exactly nothing for snow accumulation here. I envy your hike!
ReplyDeleteYes, although I didn't appreciate the time-doubled trek back from Northampton on the Mass Pike on Saturday! However I often feel that winter weather in the country can be fun whereas in the city it's almost always a nuisance. Just so you know, I have an extra pair of snowshoes.
ReplyDeletelooking forward to reading that anne truitt piece, I loved her books. Your snow is very pretty, ours is just enough to be a nuisance, not enough for fun cross country skiing or hiking or snow camping...yet, but I'm sure its coming!
ReplyDeleteOh, such a love-hate with this dratted northeast weather! But it's good about the snowshoes. Just be sure you've got them with you when it snows —not in your other house, as happened to me in the blizzard of '78. I was marooned in Jamaica Plain while my x-country skis were out at my mom's. It would have made backpacking what groceries could be found a whole lot easier.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous picture!
