Hulda and Sigur Ros were responsible for my original interest in Iceland, and I’m grateful to Olafur Eliasson and Art in America for getting me there for my first visit in 2004.

What an eyeful. Thanks Carol. Iceland sure is interesting. I've been reading Jared Diamond's Collapse in which he describes tipping points for various exceptional ecologies in the history of the planet and Iceland sure is one of them.
ReplyDeleteThe volcano erupted two days before we were to leave on a three week vacation to Italy. The flight was canceled, so we had to get refunds for all the hotels, trains, and museums we booked ahead of time. I think we got everything but about $150 back. We're rebooking our trip in October, and we will be keeping an eye on the volcano's little sister.
