These are drawings made through the use of a "string-based instrument that gives visual manifestation to sound waves and harmonics" developed by Olafur Eliasson and members of his studio. Visitors are invited to make their own drawings at the Tanya Bonakdar Gallery (521 W. 21st, NYC 10011), between 4 & 5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday through June 7th. More about it here.
I wonder what Prince's version of "Creep" would look like?

Looks like a ton of work went into that machine. Very cool. Judging by the pics, it seems the people playing it were really getting into it and having a blast.

I wonder what Yves Klein's "Monotone Symphony- Silence" would look like. Come to think of it, Klein made some pretty cool machines of his own with Jean Tinguely. Anyway, I had little knowledge of Eliasson before your blog but I've been reading up on him. There were two million visitors to The Tate when his The Weather Project was there, which strikes me as a extraordinary number.
